Katrina benefit show
Woof, what a weekend. Saturday night seems like a distant memory now. I do know that I had a great time, it was a very good show. The matches were perfectly timed, and the show actually ended before 11pm.
Got to Westminster at 12.20 on Sunday. Already a good number of people there. I know I will wind up forgetting some people, but for everyone I talked to it was good to see yawl, and the people I didn’t get time to speak to – good to see yawl too!
The crowd was not as high as everyone had hoped it would be but I think everyone had a good time. Lots of new faces, some old faces. Regardless of feelings or any bad blood that may or may not exist (I can never tell) this truly felt like a special occasion to me. These different promoters, and wrestlers all seemed like one big class reunion I suppose. The photo I took from the bleachers of the entire crew looks pretty good.
By now, everybody probably knows about the minor bumps in the road. It didn’t dampen the spirit of the show at all. Sixteen matches. It was cool to see Shannon Moore, he looks much different!
Shane asked me afterward my honest opinion on the show, and I told him that #1 – look at all the cases of water donated! #2 – $$ donated! and #3 (in and of itself) you got all these groups/wrestlers together! I am hoping that we can see more of shows like this in the future. The idea of a ’super show’ appeals to me.
Heading to Greenville tonight for EWC, and hopefully the return of Neil Nitro.
