Lemon Pepper Chicki

Headed down to AWC last night with Ken. Met ER there at 7.20! I dislike getting to places too early. The show was fun, not a big crowd which sort of surprised me. Law & Ethan Case lost their tag titles to Thomas Simpson and Josh,The……I am such an Ethan Case mark now! Sha-Shaaaa! = Hi Flying Razzle Dazzle!

The moment of the night, and I think ER will agree was the Stray Cat flashing back to his studio days recording the “Stray Cat Concerto #6″ complete with the ear cupping and time cues….hilarious!

Very entertaining main event with Krazy K and TJ Mack. I am a huge belt mark and liked the fact that K wore his AWA title out and was introduced as the AWA light heavyweight champion…it’s those little things to add to the whole picture.

Thanks again to Thomas for the invite out to dine. We went to Wild Wings in Spartanburg. I had never been there…the lemon pepper chicki was good…it was like we were in a steel mill or something, there was constant noise….very loud…ER’s cheese sticks were good too…

I am just about done reading “The Martha Rules” and there is a quote in the book that I really liked, it is a North African proverb: “Choose your companions before you choose your road.”

I’m back from Mooresville, and 15 pounds heavier!

I met ER off I85 at 4.30 and we headed to Mooresville,NC for the EWA show and some good home cooking. We got to Sharon’s house about 6, traffic slowed down a bit on I77 but wasn’t too bad. The had quite a feast prepared for us. We were joined by the Buffetts, and we all tucked in. There was cornbread, cabbage, superb mashed taters, shells and cheese, pinto beans, baked beans, steamed broccoli, cole slaw, and meat loaf, and not just one meatloaf (which was 15 pounds, the biggest loaf of meat I have seen!) but three, one regular one, one with no ketchup for the biggest child in the group, ER, har!…..then one with no onions for Johnny! For dessert! – Red Velvet Cake to die for! We had a great time, just sitting around the table conversating and stuffing our faces…..

We headed out to the Armory to see the EWA show….we walked in on the first match, which I’m sorry to say I did not get any pictures of….Small crowd, but that means a more intimate atmosphere for the folks who were there…..We got to see “Mr Elite” Jake Manning vs. Ethan Cage….I know what you’re thinking, Ethan Cage is hurt….no, not that Ethan Cage…I dare say, this was “the original” Ethan Cage…..I did not realize that this is the guy I always see recording the shows, I thought he was just from Highspots? You should learn something everyday……Next was the main event! That’s right, three matches….but that did not bother me in the slightest, it’s Thursday night, and it was a good little show for a couple of these guys to just work out in front of a crowd.

The main event was George South vs. Chris Guerrero…..It had a one hour time limit, and in the beginning I had heard that they were going to go for the full hour….Interesting to watch the “on the job” training that George was giving Chris….They did a few spots a couple of times, but that is one of the best ways to do it. Sort of a baptism of fire……

Our ring announcer was once again the triple threat of the Mid Atlantic Mafia, Dick Bourne…..ER tried to worm his way over there, and put the “Goodnight Irene” on Dick to take him out…he did get to announce the winning ticket number in the drawing they had and was giddy as a school girl over that…..

After the show, went back to Sharon’s and said our goodbyes….Thanks yawl for the pieces of cake!

Looking forward to the next show, George!

Wednesday!

The Old School 4 are great to watch…..wait, the Old School Quad…..when I first heard that I had an image of an old beat up 4 wheeler…..anyway, WWC was a lot of fun last night. We did not get to hear the Stray Cat song, and have decided that ER must have really pissed off Brodie after his last insulting blog entry…..I think it warrants a VH1 “Behind the Music” special!

I liked that Team Ego and JT Chase joined with Mr. Unbeataaaabbbleee. Quick paced match, I liked!

ER and I are heading once again to Mooresville, NC tomorrow for rassling and some of the Streicher family’s fabulous food….Sir Buffett and his clan will be joining us, so I look forward to a full table and a full stomach…and ER since he is full of shit.

As yawl know I have been on vacation and while I have been off, I have been doing my “spring” cleaning….Today I went through all my old Ward Burton stuff….I cannot believe the amount of money I spent on this stuff….I am going to probably put it on Ebay in bulk, and try to sell the whole lot….It’s a lot little cars, big cars, cards, press packets, caps, stickers, etc etc……So, if any of yawl know of anyone who is interested let me know, I want to sell it as a whole though, and get rid of it!

Friday night is highly anticipated! I mean, Ethan Case is going to be there!!!!! And you are correct, Ethan or whatever your name is: Blake=Ethan Case mark…..

Sunday PM

Fairly quick show last night, we only had seven matches. Sort of a sparse locker room too, it was 7.40, and I was able to actually sit down on an empty bench and talk to Tony – that usually doesn’t happen. Crowd seemed to be a little down too. Great show though, pretty quick paced. The two entrance doors have new set ups in them, I like them much better….those tassles were on their last legs.

Best wishes to Todd Blackwell, who will be going out for some knee surgery….and also to Sir Buffett who used the power of the punch against the concrete wall on his way to the dressing room….that’s gotta smart!

I didn’t sweat as much last night….at the show…..which is a good thing….
I got a great shot of Eagle swinging a trash can down on Ken…
I’m sorry, but I got a real kick out of watching the whole “Carolina Wrecking Crew” feud last night….I think true “rule breakers” should not have many friends…they should even hate people like themselves….so the heat between DL and Bill and Doug was interesting…..

I didn’t see Bryan Austin last night, so I am just assuming that he is laid up with some kind of injury?

Here’s a little clip I just found (I don’t know if any of you know the “All your Base are belong to us” thing or not?

http://drghetto.com/phunny/mrt.swf

And now in remembrance of a joke between ER and myself, I present monkey humor (even though I absolutely HATE monkeys!)

After the AWC

Met ER at AWC in Greenville last night. I really think the new “family friendlier” approach will help their shows. I had a great time at the show, very fun. Even though I always try to act professional, it’s a lot of fun to get involved in what is going on in the ring. Of course, ER had to cause a scene last night which got Thomas to pick him out…..ER is only happy when he gets acknowledgement above everyone else! He should try to maintain silence as I do so Thomas etc can concentrate on what is going on inside the squared circle.

Got to see Ethan Case for the first time last night. I swear though, that boy looks familiar? I’ve seen his gear before too. Very funny to hear a Gribble-ism during his match last night: “Sha-Shaaa!” I do like the looser style matches, and I enjoyed seeing Casey J in there with Ethan. I would however, like to see them go at a serious, “tighter” match just to see what they can do.

The Josh seems like he has a lot of talent. I’m not knocking anyone else at the show, it’s just that I have seen him a few times.

The weeny bit is quickly becoming the new “taking the jacket off”….it never fails to rile people up….

And I don’t know if anyone else noticed your shirt last night Thomas, NIM – but I caught it….

Got home about 11pm….I will definetely be heading back down to Main Event Presents next Tuesday and Friday. Friday is going to be a big night, Ken will be there, Milano AT, Ethan Case, Krazy K, Dexter Poindexter…..

Why am I still up?

Is this:

A) The APW Champion arriving for his appearance at the Piedmont Fair.

B) The MEDEVAC helicopter taking Bryan Austin to the hospital after the latest injury.

C) Gaffney AIR-I making a straffing run in the hopes of mowing down ER after his insulting statements.

I got up at 10.45 this morning!

Another show in Mooresville next week! Will probably be eating supper before the show at Fat Boys.

Vacation is going very well…..lunch with the Loaded Gunz today…..I went by the new Cherokee Dawgs to check it out, but no one was home.

I got my living room rearranged this afternoon.

I stink, I need a shower.

post Fair

Sitting at work, watching the A&E Biography of Rod Stewart….they don’t mention that rumor I always hear about him, you know the one – where they pumped a large quantity of a certain substance out of his stomach……

The Fair shows are over. I had a fun time. Just two nights this year, and I think that worked out pretty well. Big crowd last night, and at least 1/3 of them stayed until the very end. I wish the bleachers had been packed for the main event. The ladder match with Zack, Rowdy and Brandon East was great – looked painful.

Ken and Eagle had a good match, the crowd giving the indian yell added a lot to it. Not too cold this year either, just a nice breeze. The mobile APW dressing room was back on the scene, and you could just hear the theme from “Sanford & Son” in the background. It smells weird too.

I wonder if the driver of the monster truck and the pilot of the helicopter stopped to think how many people they could take out if they wrecked their respective craft?

The only complaint I have about last night was my damn shoes! They are like a fraction too small..and I didn’t feel this until I was on my feet so long. The show on Thursday ended right at 10pm, last night it was after 11pm….which it’s Friday, so that’s no big deal…..for people who don’t have to work all weekend…..eh, no worries though…..

One more day here, and then 16 days off! People have asked, where are you going? I’m not going anywhere….I’ll try to see some friends of mine that have been neglected thanks to wrestling.

I have found that my viewing of the “Young & the Restless” has increased, I do not miss a day now….I used to check in maybe once or twice a week, watch 15 or 20 minutes and move on….I think that the increased drama on both sides of my life has done this….for those of you that know where I work, and what’s going on there you understand…and for those of you in the wrestling you know….

I was finally able to keep my New Year’s resolution last week! Yeah, it only took 10 months, but hey, it’s still 2005….

post APW

Here it is 2pm on Sunday, my weekend is almost over! This has been a good weekend though. I only have one more to work and then I am off for 16 days! My annual holiday! Where am I going? Well to ‘rassling of course…..I am definetly going to be at AWC on Oct. 28th and will probably hit the Tuesday WWC shows as well.

Before I forget I want to mention the new HVW website again…www.highvelocitywrestling.com. It looks great, good job! I am eagerly awaiting the return of HVW to a new venue. This coming Friday of course will be the APW show at the Interstate Fair..so I will have my show fix, but the next time there is an HVW show due it is going to feel strange not to have anything to do.

I’m happy for my brother, Ken, who got the APW title last night in a great match. The ending of the match I particularly liked, as it is rare that you see someone throw in the towel. Ken will do great with the belt I am positive, I just hope everyone else agrees with me on that. Kudos to Romeo too! The other stand out match in the night personally was Rowdy vs Nick for the Carolinas belt. I could tell they were trying not to just limit the match to big high flying spots, they threw in some good mat work too. I believe Rowdy has potential, he is a great smarmy “kid”.

APW’s newest (and not even debuted) star, Dustin Eagle Dirty Money really blew it last night, as he will learn, you shouldn’t get the cameraman on your bad side…..I can do wonders in Photoshop….Not even his self-proclaimed “loaf” will help him out, lol…….

Let’s see what else……Happy Birthday Tabby…….Tony G. has great taste in movies……Scotty B. really likes seasoned fries…….ER does a great impression of air escaping from a certain body part….

Some random photos from the life of….

This is the new tattoo my friend Eric got this past week, you may recognize the face. It is inspired by “House of 1000 Corpses”. I took this the day he got it, so it still looks a little icky………

Below are pictures of the new additions to my “Pussy Posse” ……
They are (in no particular order): Fatty, Stinky, Brooklyn, and Cleveland…

Wahooooooo!

I am starting this entry on Thursday afternoon, just before 4pm. Everything seems so hectic right now, there are still pictures from the benefit show that I haven’t got around to ordering! I had to stay over at work yesterday, so that chopped almost two hours out of my already precious few hours between getting home and going to bed!

The trip to Mooresville on Tuesday was very good. It takes about an hour and a half to get there from Spartanburg on I85/I77. I met ER off 85 a little before 11am and we took off. We left early in order to stop and visit with our friend Sharon and her family for a few hours. We actually beat her home. Sharon’s mom made us feel especially at home and introduced us to the family of pets. (Cinammon loves me more, ER!) Sharon made us a wonderful meal of baked chicken, stuffing, broccoli & cheese, green beans and peas. We washed this all down with copious amounts of Pepsi.

We spent a few hours with full bellys and the great tales from the old ‘rassling days. Then we ventured forth into Mooresville proper! Sharon took us by Dale Earnhardt Inc. We walked around inside the foyer. Very nice building, I like all the glass. My NASCAR days are over, and have been since Ward Burton failed to secure a ride.

From there we went to feast our eyes on the $150,000 gate that protects a certain driver’s home. It’s a nice place, big house on the hill, and like football field lights in the front yard illuminating I suppose a track.

I stopped at Nelson Royal’s leather store along the way to get a picture. If you don’t know who Nelson Royal was, you should look him up.

We got to the National Guard Armory at 6.30, George was at the ticket counter. I have gotten to the point where George actually remembers my name now, so I must be doing something right. He gave me the Wahoo package, and I bought one of the t-shirts. I still have not had a chance to watch the Wahoo shoot DVD, but will try to this weekend. George was constantly moving back and forth from the ticket table to the back, to the microphone etc.

Good to see Dick Bourne again, and you will see in my photos later on that Dick is now the triple threat of the MidAtlantic Mafia – webmaster, cameraman and now announcer! ER was seething in his chair that he didn’t get to say anything, har! Dick, George and whoever else helped, yawl did a great job! The video presentation was great, it gave folks (really only ER) a chance to see how Wahoo was back in the day. Spoke to Tony Hunter for just a minute, I’m really looking forward to his show in November!

The Eagle’s showed up, with the newest APW sensation, Dusty Eagle Money aka Dirty Money. The matches were good, not too short, not too long. Eagle faced “Romeo” Mark Slain in the “Strapless Indian Strap Match”…..Superstar beat Jason “Ultimate Warrior/Fighter/whatever” Jones for the EWA title….which I really like the EWA title belt, it does favor the NWA title, but it has it’s own look to it and I like that….A few new faces for me, everybody did good. George was in the main event against the Dirty Old Assassin…and George got bloody!

The show ended at about 10pm…very good time for a weekday show…ER and I hit the road….I got home about 12.20 and then was up at 6am to go to work! This wrestling stuff is wearing me out! There is no AWC show tomorrow night so I am almost at a loss! What to do?

I have heard that George may try to run more shows on Tuesday nights, I certainly hope so.

It will be hard for some to believe, but I actually did sit through WWE Raw on USA Monday night, I watched the whole thing. I was again entertained at a friends house for the show, thanks again “homie”……

I read the announcement yesterday on the HVW site that the “House of Ribs” has been closed down. It’s a real shame, of course I knew in the back of my mind that it would happen one day. The fight club was a memorable place. Ethan Cage’s last match before his time off……the fake eviction notice…..whoever went in there and changed the sign from House of Pain to House of Ribs……the drunks…..the blood…..and the great talent that got together every other Friday night…..I am sure HVW will be back, and I look forward to it.

I think that’s all I have for now…
