New Years weekend

I was originally planning to go out of town today,to do something non-wrestling related, but my plans have changed just a tad….I will now be going down to Lavonia, GA to the NWA Anarchy show tonight….Meeting ER in Greenville about 2.15….Krazy K and TJ Mack are supposed to be there, Shadow Jackson and a few other guys that I haven’t got to meet yet….Really looking forward to it….I was lucky enough to go once before with Shane Austin when it was NWA Wildside….

Christmas Day

I finished Mitch Albom’s “The Five People You Meet in Heaven” yesterday. I am not the most religious person around, but this was a really good book. Very quick read, I highly recommend it.

I got some bad news yesterday, at about 5.30pm the wife of a co-worker passed away after a battle with cancer. She was probably 44, 45 years old. Her name was Angie Scoggins, and her husband was Bob, who was the former Fire Chief in the town I work at. Losing anyone at this time of year is rough, and now their two young teenage daughters will never look at Christmas the same. Then on the way home last night, there was a song on the radio about a little boy buying shoes for Christmas to give to his mother who was dying…man, talk about a downer of an afternoon. I was in bed by 9.30 last night.

Anyway I’m sitting here watching the Charlotte Philharmonic do their thing on UNC-TV eagerly awaiting 7pm so I can join the family.

Christmas time

So here’s my little Christmas card to all of yawl….I hope you all have a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah or whatever…..This time of year is supposed to be about glad tidings, giving, good feelings, love, peace and all that stuff….on the personal side of my life, I am feeling that….my family is getting together on Christmas night, we have exchanged names, we are going to have an informal dinner and we are going to have a great time….the other side of my life, my “semi-professional life” is a different story….nothing to get into here….it just really seems that the heat generated from recent events could have prevented all of us from losing power last week as it would have evaporated the precipitation in the air! I no longer wonder why some people throw their hands up in disgust….I think about our buddy, Ostgard (and thousands of other soldiers) who get to spend the holidays in a third world hell-hole instead of with their families and friends….they don’t get to enjoy the simple pleasures of life….a delicious deep fried turkey for dinner, a comfortable pair of underwear, Alexis Stewart, etc…..I continue to try and stay above the fray! Hope you all have a great holiday season! And I will be back at APW on the 31st!

Oh, Alexis….

I am in love with Alexis Stewart…..I got to see her live tonight on the Apprentice:Martha Stewart finale……if only she were a wrestling fan…….

Ice Storm 2005!

What a hectic few days! I lost my power at 12.30am on Friday, after being at work all day until 7pm and then having to stay over until 10.30. My power was finally restored late Sunday evening.

Thankfully, Mr & Mrs Ethan Cage were gracious enough to let me and my feline familiar share their home.

Friday night, met ER in Columbus and we were off to uncharted territories – the SWA – in Forest City. This was my first SWA show and I had a great time. Very good. Got to see some new guys and some familiar faces. Good crowd too.

The only problem was that I had forgot to totally recharge my second battery, so I had to start picking my moments more selectively as the show progressed. They didn’t start giving me a problem until the last two matches. Some of the CWA guys from Statesville: Jake Manning, Bobby Houston, Chris Guerrero, and Bobby Ramone(?)…..

Got to see Ricky Landel, D-Money, Truitt Fields of “Muscle Madness”, Myric Moore, Tattoo for the first time.

SWA has security posted at each corner, which I think is a neat idea. And plus they actually act like security – they’re paying attention to the fans and whats going on outside the ring.

Enjoyed seeing the Shannon Moore/Krazy-K feud continue….

Best intro music: Law with the Spice Girls

The Southern Degenerates – Wicked & Torment have a great looking (and matching!) coats…..

I have to apologize to the Armory for the tire tracks on their front yard – that was me! I thought it was an entrance…

Supper was at Chili’s

Saturday night APW I have to say first: The line of the night delivered by Chief Jay Eagle. “I’m going shove a bucket of chicken right up your A-hole!”….and no, I didn’t leave out the two “s’s” – this was directed to Boomer Payne for their upcoming Christmas night match…..Good show, had fun…crowd seemed a little down…..

- Glad to see Ken wrestle Jimmy Kindrid. That was the first time they have ever worked each other. It was something different for the crowd….and good for Ken…I think a champion needs to be facing a wide array of folks – it makes a champion a champion…

- I’m still going through my pictures, very tiring……

- I will not be attending any shows this week! Gasp! I know……I worked today…..working on Friday, and really just feel like coming home that night…..APW is running on Sunday, and that is the evening that my family is getting together…..so I should be recharged for next week!

I was in Spartanburg

Had a great time last night….I left work early, went home and relaxed a little bit…went through some of the HVW pics. Met my friends Deb and Brian in Spartanburg….they drove down from Belmont to see some rassling! They were going into Books a Million in Gastonia, and so I got her to pick me up a copy of the PWI Guide….so I now have in my hands my first published photos in a PWI publication, no they aren’t credited but that’s Ok, I now which are mine.

We had an early supper at the Golden Corral, and man, it was packed at 5pm! Went through the Westgate Mall quickly where I ran into not one, not three, but two APW regulars: Mickey Richards and Evon Force – Mickey was buying some new bandanas, and Evon was trying on some new wigs…..

As I said, very good show last night…good crowd…good matches….

I like the team of Double Trouble, the name not so much but I think they go well together, and last night they actually looked like a team….Kaos has moved to pants and a belt that goes with Force’s…..and I have never seen Jimmy Kindrid move as fast as he did last night barreling out of the entrance to make the save on the Travis Blackwelder, the curtain jerker (just a little joke) formerly known as the All American Dragon…..

Good to see Morbid and Shea Shea back…I’m hoping that they will become at least semi-regulars….they work well against each other and together….last night there was a slight “dysfunction” in their match…..

I was surprised to see Zack and Dirty win the tag belts last night…..very good match, the crowd was totally into this one, and were ecstatic when the title changed hands….kudos to all four guys…..

Apologies to Shane Austin that I missed the fireball! It would have made a great picture….

Big Country got his hands on Velvet last night, this feud has potential, they are going with a pole smoker match next week…..something about getting the cowboy hat…..

The main event was exactly that, Rowdy James vs. Nick Fury with the lumberjacks around the ring….the end was great, left the crowd wanting more…which is the way it should be……

Ken tearing up the guy’s photo was funny, keep doing that! More $ for me……

I’m at work now, waiting to get home….a great weekend for me absolutely….I was in the right mindset…..Coming up next week is SWA on Friday night in Forest City, which will be great for me! 20 minutes down the road…..

I think for Halloween next year, I’m going to get me a gold lame’ scrub shirt and come as “Honest” Doug (just joking!)……him or Peter Griffin……..

I have a nugget in my possession! Oh, yawl are going to love what ER and I have cooked up for this!

post HVW

Went to HVW last night in Hendersonville….again sadly, a dismal turn out…12 or 13 at the beginning of the show…..but I worried more about just having a good time instead of the crowd number……Saw a couple of familiar faces from All-Pro Wrestling in Kingsport, TN in the Bounty Hunter and the Ghost Riders…..

In my opinion, Neil Nitro and Ethan Case had the match of the night….really enjoyed it….and plus it was good to just sit and talk to a few guys too……Ethan Cage, since he is extremely hard to contact during the week…..

I like Ryan C, I think he was a bit mis-matched last night though….he deserved someone different……

Ethan Cage unleashed his piledriver last night, and it was simply: spectacular! I have to say it now rivals the Cronic Crunch as one of the better piledrivers around…..the bad news – I don’t believe I got a picture of it! I haven’t downloaded the pics from last night, so I’m not sure….

Ryan and I were sitting in the back row during the EOD tag match, and it sort of just degraded into a comedy match, so we starting yelling for Ethan to unleash the “Warrior” – and did he, the raised arms, fist pumping, manic energy, running in place, rope bouncing, tackling – it was all there….we were going apeshit! What did it matter, the rest of those people weren’t making a peep…..

I have heard that Honest Doug had a packed house at the Chester YMCA, and that it was a hot crowd, very good to hear…..I am eagerly awaiting a report…….

I will be heading to APW tonight instead of the Queen City Clash, some things have come up so I will be staying closer to home…..

I am looking forward to my next trip to Cherokee Dawgs….

I was originally going to meet a couple of friends of mine in Belmont,NC on the way to Charlotte tonight, but now instead, they will be meeting me in Spartanburg before the show….get something to eat and then they want to see APW…..

My Christmas shopping is done, I finished it the other day….

I am still reading “Philip and Elizabeth” by Gyles Brandreth…..

At work today, until 1pm…….

Cherokee Dawwwwwgggggsss!

Went down to Cherokee Dawgs today….very good….good food, good atmosphere…..our welcome lady was none other than the Chief himself! Sweet tea very good (kinda salty at the end)…..ate with Ken, Boomer, ER and even Slick Willy stopped by to join us…..

Some things have come up today, and I’m not sure if I will be attending the Queen City Clash…..I will know Saturday morning…..

My search for the PWI Guide to Pro Wrestling continues…..Today I checked Barnes & Noble, Eckerd, Wal Mart and Target and could not find it! I have two photos in it….my first published work!
