Guess what? Match Game is coming to blank.
So out of the loop of all the wrestling activities of the day…woe is me.
It’s Indyrific,
the whole day, but no cameraman;
My clone must suffice.
I have gotten reports in from my different feelers this morning.
Congrats to Mike McCloud for winning the HVW Flyweight title (”World Flyweight”?). Michael “Klondike” Carpenter reports that Team Macktion beat Ken Magnum and Stoney Hooker last night at CWA in Statesville, NC. I would have liked to have seen this. Also on the card was AWA Southern tag champs the Queen City Kings wrestling seperately. The CWA tag belts changed hands going to Total Protection (we know him better as Jimmy Jack Funk Jr) & KC McKnight from Chris Guerrero and Jesse Ortega. Bobby Houston won the main event battle royale that included T-Dawg HG from what I’ve heard?
HVW had a special “Night of Guest Referees” last night, where my little brother, Gary Brett Capetta had to officiate a match.
Heard that Honest Doug’s show went fairly well. Had a good turn out in the crowd and wrestlers too. Main event was Ostgard v. “Romeo” Mark Slain. Looking forward to going down and seeing the new “Chester Sports Coliseum”. I will most probably be there on the 20th of this month.
I’m getting ready to start chapter 33 in “State of Denial” by Bob Woodward. I’m reading this quicker than most of the political books I have read in the past. Interesting stuff.
There is a bulletin going around MySpace touting Neil Nitro, and I heard the story straight from the horses mouth this morning. Neil’s the man.
Nitro holds power;
boy and girl alike look up,
to show on table.
I hope Buffett’s show is going well for him right now. I have yet to hear much on it.
I watched “One vs. 100″ last night. It’s a new game show hosted by Bob Saget. I like it. It combines elements of new and old game shows: trivia, competition and large amounts of money.
I was in bed by ten after nine last night. I watched the show and then was off.
Ricky Morton, Jimmy Valiant and Dennis Condrey are going to be at the next GSCW show in Lenoir, NC. I may try and go. I always enjoy talking to Boogie Woogie, a nicer man you won’t meet. Plus, Madman Pondo is supposed to be at this show.
Morton says no fear;
with me there is no doubt, see
it “sold the F out”
Look at this nifty poster for Starrcage 2006.
Superstar will meet
Mr. Number 1 in cage,
any blood, oh yes.
I am on a haiku streak today! I watched some of the “History of the WWE Championship” DVD’s today. I was really only interested in seeing some of the old stuff. Very well put together though. Seems to skip a lot.
Back to work tomorrow. I feel as if I have accomplished nothing on my two days off. It’s like a broken record. Yesterday I was in a total funk. No energy to do anything. Today I washed four loads of clothes, washed dishes and went walking around town. Yes, believe it or not – I made three walking trips out. This was an ideal day for me weather wise. Not hot, not cold. Just a little chill in the air, nice breeze.
I am attending no shows this weekend. I have said that before, but have usually shown up somewhere. Not this weekend. There is a group going to CWA in Statesville that I would really like to go with but cannot. HVW is running tomorrow night instead of Saturday due to Buffett’s benefit show.
I am picking up tension online. It’s there for those who know where to look. A break from places and people always does a body good. These tensions have been building up, now there are manifesting themselves in the web.
I will return to ringside on the 20th. I will probably be at Honest Doug’s APW Chester show.
The new show “Heroes” is awesome. I started watching “30 Rock” last night. “Studio 60″ is also a cool show. “Ghost Hunters” started their new season last night, I haven’t been able to see it yet.
I logged back in and found a post that I had forgot about. The one below has been sitting since Friday. Friday ER and I stopped in to see Law. Other than being unable to sit for more than 30 minutes, he seems to be doing very good. I’m glad to see that everything worked out with the operation.
Honest Doug’s Chester APW shows started Friday night. I have heard from both Ostgard and Ken that Doug has a pretty good setup where he is at. Doug, I plan on getting down there one Friday night and good luck! Saturday, my friend Eric and I went to see “Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning” in Spartanburg. We ran into Tony & Tabby Gowan at the mall, good to see them. The movie was a little hollow for me. I talked a little about this on the Regal Board. I spoke with ER last night, and he agreed that if R. Lee Ermey had not been in this movie, there would have been no point in having it.
That afternoon myself, Boomer and the Magnums (yeah I know, you’d think after all the trouble at HVW they wouldn’t be speaking to each other) headed to Lenoir for the Great Southern Championship Wrestling show. Lenoir is a straight shot down Highway 64 for me; it takes a good hour to get there. I ran into Indy Jack and Indy Ron at the show, they had come with Dan Parris I believe. Talked with some fans from CWF in Burlington.
The show was heavy. Thirteen matches in total. I was glad that I ran into the Buffetts. It sounds like the “Rumble in the Moutains” is really starting to come together. I really hope this has a good turn out.
Wouldn’t it be nice if everyone washed their gear and themselves before coming out in front of a crowd to wrestle?
The Juggalator and Pitt had a stapler-dollar bill match. The objective was to staple thirteen one-dollar bills to your opponent. Very bloody. I picked up two of the staples and gave them to a kid in the bleachers. Mickey Richards had me cracking up during the six man he was in. Mickey is the man! Ate at Ruby Tuesday’s afterwards and headed home.
Sunday I left for Spartanburg about 3pm. Met up with The Mack Brothers and the lovely Rebecca and we headed towards the Bi-Lo Center.
Parking was $10 behind some guy’s house. We found out that we had tickets on the floor, third row. Thomas and Neil were outside waiting to go in, but Stoney had already run into the building screaming. Ran into Tim Lawler and Arlene, good to see them. Our friend from The History of WWE.com, Graham Cawthon was behind us. Jimbo, Heater and Beth were already in their seats.
I had a spectacular time. I noticed of course that they did not have a ringside photographer. Tempted I was to jump the railing but the Fink had it well guarded.
Finkel is THE announcer. ER is still the Howard Finkel of the indys. My younger brother, Brett can be the Lillian Garcia of the indys.
If you read Brett’s myspace blog, you will get his take on some happenings after the house show.
My favorite moment at the show was seeing “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan appear for the Masterlock challenge. Hacksaw was my dad’s favorite back when I was younger and we would watch wrestling. My pictures from the WWE show are a little dark, and not as close as what I usually do, but there are still some good ones. One Hacksaw photo in particular.
TJ has made amends for the “subway sammich” incident from September. He bought me a weeney at the show.
It was cool to just sit and watch the show. It was the first time I have ever seen (in person) Randy Orton, Umaga, the Spirit Squad, Gene Snitsky, Charlie Haas, Duggan, Shelton Benjamin, Johnny Nitro, and Edge.
Multiple thank yous again to Thomas and Jeff for the tix. We all ate at Bailey’s after the show. There I had a sample of corn on the cob – no joke, I ate the mini cobet like they do in the cartoons. I stuck the whole thing in my mouth and pulled it out dekernaled. The chicken breasts that I got smelled of fish/lobster and one actually tasted like it. Blech. I heard about something that happened this past weekend, and it sort of relates to an incident from a couple of weeks ago. It sort of leaves me irritated about folks in wrestling. If I could, I would bring Ole Anderson into locker rooms and let him talk to guys about wrestling. Ask Yoshi how Ole can make you feel.
I try to be respectful to everyone in the sport that I encounter. I would not be where I’m at if people had not helped me to get here – that goes for wrestling and my “real” job. You should never stop learning. Respect is something that has to be earned. If you do what you are told, and do it well then you get respect.
Being in a little pond can sometimes give tadpoles a big head. They need to sprout their little legs and start hopping around a little. Check out some other pads. Ribbet with some older toads.
I am working this weekend, so there will probably be no wrestling. HVW is running on Friday night instead of Saturday. Ken, Thomas, Mack Bros, Stoney are going to CWA in Statesville. Buffett’s big show is on Saturday.
I woke up at 5.50am. I don’t even get up that early when I have to go to work.
Charles Taylor has agreed to debate Heath Shuler, with certain demands. I suppose he has decided to since in “a survey of likely voters, 51 percent favored Shuler while 40 percent chose Taylor”.
Going to Great Southern Championship Wrestling in Lenor tomorrow.
Getting ready to go over to the Jaxon’s for some breakfast. Went to Great Southern Championship Wrestling last night in Lenoir, NC. Ran into the Indy Show Express: Indy Jack and Indy Ron. I’ll go over my night later. Leaving this afternoon for the WWE house show in Greenville.
I found out this morning that my boss has been reading my blog….I better straighten up…is that possible?
Today’s agenda:
9.30 – Body Language on GSN
10- Family Feud
10.30- Blockbusters
11- The Price is Right
12- Channel 7 news….and lunch….cheese sammich
12.30- The Young & the Restless
1.30- Reading…..nap
After many requests here they are, some pictures of the abandoned house I have dubbed the “Chainsaw Massacre” house. It sits on Hwy 64 in Rutherford County here in the lovely Tar Heel state. I ride into Rutherfordton/Forest City on 64 a good bit, and this house is now in plain view after the land was clear cut around it. As you can tell in the straight on shot, this is a shotgun house…this would probably be pretty creepy at night….

p.s. If you live in Western NC…vote Heath Shuler!
