Great fury, like great whiskey, requires long fermentation.

I went to see the motion picture The Queen today.  Yes, I know – insert joke here.  ER already has.

I highly recommend this if you are into the whole royalty thing like myself.  The film followed the week after the death of Princess Diana.  It didn’t paint HRM in a bad light at all.  Near the end I had sympathy for her.  As Tony Blair explained, this woman has been trained since she was a girl to sacrifice everything for her role.  In her mind she acted accordingly to the situation, saying that it was a “private affair” for her family.

Anyway, it starred Helen Mirren, and was very good.  Thirty Helens agree (as the theater was full of blue hairs).  No previews that really stood out.

I stopped the ground floor office suite of THE Great ER, he showed me something dirty on his computer and then quickly sweeped me out the door.

May be going to see Short Bus tomorrow.

my word is stellar!…

So I see now that the motion picture Groundhog Day has been made into a weekly series.

Friday night I gourged on Japanese food.  My god, I love the shrimp sauce…and the steak with shrimp sauce…and the rice with shrimp sauce…and the chicki with shrimp sauce…

No joke, I hardly ate at all on Saturday I had so much the night before.

Last night I popped up to HVW in Hendersonville.  There I was finally able to meet one of our returning soldiers and frequent contributor to the Regal Board: DV8_Me/Stokes.  Again, welcome home, good to meet you and I look forward to your report of the shows.

Congrats to one of our indy/weekend warrior friends, who received his biggest pay out to date on Saturday afternoon.

Coming back to work for three days in a row was tough after being off for so long.  Ugh.

I have fallen into a bad habit again.  Ebay.  Now I’m doing daily searches on Truman Capote.  I received my catalog from Bonhams New York for their “Private World of Truman Capote” auction held on 9 November.  It garnered $242,000.   Truman’s personal copy of “In Cold Blood” went for $7000.

I may go see a couple of movies this week while I’m off.  “The Queen” is showing in Greenville.  “Shortbus” is playing at the Fine Arts Theater in Asheville.

Friday I will be heading back to Statesville for CWA.  Saturday will be NWA Anarchy, and then Monday 20 November will be Starrcage in Mooresville!

The funniest thing I have heard today:  Rep. Charles Taylor’s new political ad that claims he is our “independent” voice in Washington, DC.  Wow…now that’s funny.  A man voted one of the most corrupt members of Congress is independent.  Whatever.

I am still working on the pictures from NWA Anarchy.  I’m still aiming for Wednesday as a completion date.

Going back to work was not bad at all.  Very quiet day.  The only thing I noticed was that this is the first time I have been at work after the time change.  When I left, it was pitch dark.

Nothing much else to say.  I wanted to post this here, as I just finished reading it in my copy of the “Intelligence Report”.

The editorial “Blood & Soil” - Pat Buchanan is a Nazi.

An article on this charming gentleman in Tucson, AZ.

Everyone remember to vote tomorrow.  If you don’t vote you can’t complain.

So sad, the last day of my vacation and I am sitting here in the office after a busy weekend.  Saturday I met The Great ER off I85, and we headed to Helen, GA.

We made a pit stop on Level Grove Rd near the NWA Arena.  To me it was a regular small town gas station, an off brand fuel name, more a meeting place for the locals than a business.  ER went to the bathroom first and I wandered the aisles.  It contained the usual dust covered VHS tapes (and a betamax if anyone is looking), packs of condoms and assorted sundries.  What caught my eye was an item that I have never seen inside a small town gas station before.  It was a rectal thermometer.  Yes, in the middle of Cornelia, GA.  The packaging was aged, and dated 1984.

Moving on, most of you know how small airline bathrooms are.  I can tell you this, there would have been no hopes of joining the mile high club in a bathroom this small.

The Remember When Theater in Helen is very nice establishment.  There was a haunted house next door going full swing that looked really decked out. Helen is a german motifed town.  It was very touristy, but looked like a nice place to take a walk through.

Add another neck pass to the collection.  I love getting the neck passes, if I could I would wear them all the time.  The Theater was a great set up for a wrestling show.  A upper walkway for hard cameras and VIP’s.  A large stage with a cool walkway.  A true big show feel.  Thanks again to Jerry Palmer and the Anarchy crew for letting me come in.

I believe they must have had 400-500 people at the show.  Great crowd, hot for the everything.  The main event which included a surprise visit by AJ Styles had the crowd standing the whole time.  They were not only standing for AJ and Abyss, but because they all had an emotional attachment to this match.  The Devil’s Rejects vs. Team Anarchy – Jerry, Jason Justice (who I know better as Scottie Wrenn), and Mikki Free.  For the better part of this year I believe this has been building up.  Turning Shawn Tempers against his partner Ace Rockwell, then the constant attacks etc etc.

This number of fans really makes everyone want to do their best.  I was racing around, ER had an extra “umph” in his announcements, the wrestlers all performed their A games.

I got back home about 2.15 this morning.  Weary.  Not ready to go back to work!

So tallying up my vacation: 17 days off.  5 wrestling shows.  One ghost tour of Asheville,NC.  One drag show.  One mini concert from Edwin McCain.  3 kisses at the Double Olive Cafe in Hendersonville.  Two movies seen.  One haircut.  1000 wrestling pictures taken (give or take a few).  76 hours of vacation used.  2400 (by my rough estimations) miles traveled.

The Anarchy pics are probably not going to be up tonight.  It may be Wednesday before they are completed.

So last night was HVW’s Extreme Insanity Hardcore night.  As the majority of HVW shows tend to lean to the hardcore element, this just had a large helping of cursing thrown in.

ER and I got to the building about 7pm.  The crowd eventually filled in to about 40+.  The main event saw Viper vs. Kris Chrisifix in a electrified barb wire light tube match.  The lights were placed in each corner horizontally.  All four of those were used and also about three extras from outside.  Nice and bloody at the end.  Chrisifix had to be carried out by his arms and legs as apparently he had lost consciousness.  Of course, the medics on hand tended to him in the dressing room.

I did not get pictures of every match last night.  Nothing personal, but I just felt like hanging out with my buds up in the balcony.  Not something I get to do much at shows anymore.

Afterwards we went to “Cat Daddy’s” on Main Street.  Not a bad place.  We sat at a table in the dark regions of the establishment.  I had the fish (cod) and chips.

Two ladies who worked for Miller Beer came to the table and gave us a little survey.  The Goonies were working their magic on her, and it was pointed out they “just totally K-5′d ‘em!”

Rocky Starr can’t do slow dancing.  Ryze and Bubbles (Ryze N’ Bubbles?) can however.  Sabrina gives a great massage.  Neil makes fun of deaf people (next time I’m bringing my ear horn).  Bubbles is a great kisser (next time I want tongue).

Today I will be heading to Helen, GA for NWA Anarchy.

Here are some pictures of Yungas Road aka The Road of Death located in Bolivia.  It is considered to be the most dangerous road in the world.

Is anyone surprised by these kinds of stories anymore?

Going to HVW’s Extreme Big Lunacy Hardcore show tonight.  The main event is scheduled to be a light tube as rope barbwire Saw 3 in Coal Miner’s Glove on a pole match I believe…or something like that.

Saturday evening will be NWA Anarchy in Helen, GA.

Yesterday I had breakfast at Strawberry Hill in Cooley Springs.  The bacon was really good.

Just found this online….

The Next Bob Barker? Name Your Price

Start rolling out the punny headlines – CBS “Early Show” weatherman Dave Price is being touted as the replacement for “Price is Right” host Bob Barker, who just announced his imminent retirement on Tuesday.

NYP Page Six speculates that CBS chief Les Moonves had to pay Barker off to retire, because, as one former co-worker put it, “Bob always swore he would die on that show. He had a unique contract where it was for life – and if he left unwillingly, the show had to go dark for a year effectively killing it.” Plus, Moonves apparently loves wacky weatherguy Price, who had been threatening to jump ship to Fox, which he left to come to CBS.

Indeed, in September, reports the New York Daily News, Price was trying out Barker’s job in a run-through at the “Price is Right’s” production company’s studio. And well-placed TMZ.com spies tell us that Price has just inked a long-term contract with the network so Moonves can place Price on “Price” with no problem. And we’re further told Price is “chomping at the bit” for the gig.
