Mr. Blake from the House of Blake

I sent a picture message out last night around 10pm.  The lag time on these things is intolerable.  Some people get them hours later, some immediately.

Saturday – picked up Mike McCloud, Rocky Starr, the wrestler formerly known as Mr Bubbles and my brother Brett and headed to UWA Classic in Marion,NC.

I walked into the dressing room at one point swinging the door with as much power as I could – it made contact with the announcer’s elbow.  After apologizing, I realized he was still able to function (sorry ER & Brett).

Good to see Wicked and Yoshi again.  They had a great match partnering with James Drake and Shee Shee respectively.

Steven Walters = Young Lion.

Tom Williams & Big Daddy Z are great guys – I wish them continued success.

Looking forward to the weekend.  Heading to the UWF shows in GA and TN.  Plus with my days off, I’m getting sort of a mini-vacation.  Off for one solid week.

hydrating the wrinkle….

I should really vent a lot more on here…tell you people what I really think…who I really can’t stand…who grinds my gears…who is the burr in my saddle…eh, maybe not…who cares.

Friday – Thank you Kirby.  I had a great time, even though Derek was cursing everyone.  ER, stay out of the floor.  To Rebecca’s friend (Shelly?) – Again, I’m very sorry for making your puppy squeek.  TJ – Happy Birthday bud!  BJ – it was all ER…he is evil, but not dead.

Saturday – Solo road trips suck, getting a day off work does not.  1 1/2 hours to Statesville from Arledge Acres.  Discussed wrestling legends with Stutts and a guy.  Got hit in the face with a giant ball of Saran Wrap, that I’m sure was intended for ER, right BJ?  Got to meet Baby Doll – super nice lady, and she smelled really good.  CWA - 5 matches, good show.  The main event was spectacular.  The best cage match I have seen on the indys.  The Grace Park Rec Center has been giving me trouble as far as lighting conditions every time I have been.  I think I may have gotten that figured out, I will know when I look at the pictures.  It seemed to work especially well for the cage match photos too.  What is the secret?  I’ll never tell.  This is by far the bloodiest match I have personally been at ringside for.  If you were close enough you could smell it in the air – that heavy “iron” smell.  I even got a few blood spatters on myself.  Yes, ER would have freaked.

Late meal at Outback Steakhouse.  Again, BJ & Derek – I publicly apologize for the confusion.

I have the “Benny Hill Show” ringtone on my phone, and last night it rang at just the right time as I was driving at a high rate of speed with flashers.

Ostgard – I’m glad you like the Star Crunch, I think they are a terrific snack to have.  Reminds me of afterschool/late afternoon sugar fixes.

I’m reading “Howard Hughes: The Untold Story” by Peter Harry Brown & Pat H. Broeske.  Some of you know that I have met Hughes’ son – the “Third”.

Neil – positive vibes, brother.

Brice – you never called me last night after you said you would…

A common error among novice players…

So here it is Monday-I am back at work after an enjoyable weekend.

Friday night, I met ER at the Spartanburg Inn and we headed to Chester,SC for APW.  What a great crowd Doug had.  Doug said the final number was 273.  The security guys were very vigilant in their duties.  There was one at every corner and constantly moved around the ring.  The ringside area was one of the tighest I have ever been in.  The reason for this was the amount of fans in the building.  It does make it hard to move around at times though with so many people packed together.  Had a great time though, good to see some guys that I haven’t in awhile.

Chester has a wrestler by the name of “Big Willy” – I call him Honest Doug III though.  Ryze n’ Cock wrestled Rob Killjoy and James Drake – very good match.  I will certainly be coming back to Chester as soon as my schedule permits.

We left Chester at 12.15am…yes that’s when the show had wrapped up.  Went to Greenville to eat at Perkins on Woodruff Rd with Brother Brett and the Goonies.  The place was very clean and quiet – a welcome change from the usual places we end up eating at.  The pancakes had a very flat taste to them though.  The kielbasa was wonderful though.

ER got me back to the Inn at 4am.  As soon as we started down the road to the parking lot, I could tell something had been done to my car.  My first thought: “Those bastards!”  We pulled in, and found that my car windows were covered with yellow post it notes.  Examples: “Bob Barker is a homo” – “RIP Anna Nicole” – “Aren’t you cold?”.

It took me 15 minutes to remove them all, at which point my fingers were numb.  I must say though, that I laughed through the entire process – and I’m thankful that worse was not done.

Saturday I rode with two Hookers(Stoney and his sister) to the UWA Xtreme show in Marion, NC.  It was good to be back at UWA, Big Daddy Z has been wanting me to come back for awhile, and I was happy to make the trip.  Stoney worked the opening match against Shea Shea McGrady.  Stoney did very well in the ‘bad guy’ role.  He was “more Mack”.

The hardcore three way match was bloody!  It involved fluorescent light tubes which always make a lot of noise and dust.  They also make great pictures.  Looking forward to getting back to UWA in the future.

And yes, Burke County Wrestling stars were in attendnace – JC Steele and “Dangerous” Donnie.

I am taking a vacation day this Saturday for CWA’s anniversary show in Statesville,NC.

Here is a random thought I had the other day – how many wrestling promotions claim “Boogie Woogie Man” Jimmy Valiant as their “commissioner”?  Just wondering.

I love him even if he does smell like dead ham…

I’m fantastic because I’m right…

I TiVo a lot of television during the week – Heroes, The Young & the Restless (which I’m actually interested in the escaped Sheila Carter story), Law & Order (CI & SVU), all of WWE, TNA, Star Trek (TOS, Voyager, and Enterprise), Oprah, American Dad, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Aqua Teen Hunger Force (take a chill pill Boston), Ugly Betty, Two and a Half Men, The New Adv. of Old Christine, Saturday Night Live, MAD TV, etc etc.  Tonight was one of my favorites…

“I’m Chris Hansen with Dateline…what are you doing here?”

I actually had two friends over to watch tonights episode…it is becoming must see television – and a great time to socialize with friends.  I hear they may be coming to South Carolina soon.  Tune in next week though, when they visit Texas!

I watched this past week’s episode of “SNL”, with host Drew Barrymore.  Near the end of the show they had a “commercial” for Nelson’s Baby Toupees – self explanatory.  It made me laugh a little (babies with wigs on), I probably would have laughed more if I had not already seen it!   They blatantly lifted the idea from Second City Television - Episode 25 from the first season, which aired in 1977 – a “commercial” for Tiny Tops – hairpieces for babies.

Anyway…I want to say thanks to the guys (Mike B, Tyshion, everybody who puts in a good word for my work!) who made it possible for me to get in to shoot Hermie Sadler’s upcoming UWF shows.  I’m really looking forward to being at these shows.  I found out last night that Team Macktion is booked – so it should make for a fun weekend.  Maybe I’ll get a picture in PWI one day – a color one this time.

I just purchased a Sirius Stiletto SL10.  Should give me something to do with any downtime I encounter away from my car unit.

Reading “Fade” by Robert Cormier.

A big change may be coming up in my personal life – nothing major to worry about right now, but something that will have an impact.  To me it symbolizes the beginning of the end of some things.

I had a massage today, and before you even think it – it didn’t involve the “happy ending”.  This was professional.  I used to go at least twice a month, and it’s a practice that I have decided to get back into.  I’m always afraid that I’ll wind up farting on the table tough.

Jaromír Vejvoda was a great composer…

“Court not the critic’s smile nor dread his frown”  – Sir Walter Scott.

I am sitting here at work, with nothing to do.  I was in bed by 9.30 last night.

Did Jeffrey Dahmer kill Adam Walsh?

The local messageboard plague has landed on the Regal board, leaving his usual inane, nonsensical poppycock that does nothing other than take up space.

I am waiting to see any results from last nights shows.  APW-Chester in well, Chester and HVW was in Burnsville,NC last night.

I will probably be heading to UWA in Marion,NC next Saturday night.  It will be good to see the guys in Marion again, I have been meaning to get back there for awhile.

$100K to my county’s ex-deputies.  Here is a great example as to why “comp” time should be abolished.  What a joke.  When I worked for county government, I was compensated for about 100 hours of comp time, that I never got to take.

My sources on the street confirmed early this morning that the Great ER was at the Upstate SC Outdoor & RV Expo at the Palmetto Expo Center last night.  ER visited the VIP craft table a few times, taking in all the free spirits.  His night ended by yelling a challenge to Brett Wolverton – something about being a “cold day in hell” when he goes back to Hendersonville, and since “Brett Okerlund” lives up the road why wasn’t he at the Expo trying to get a job?   For shame ER!

The Super Game is this weekend: Who cares?

I may be heading to GA/TN for a couple of big shows in March and then WV in April – stay tuned!

I have just dropped a crap load of money buying up all the Mystery Science Theater 3000 DVD sets this week.

Not much to say here (or any other blog according to the Addiction!).
