the nursery rhyme ripper…

I took a break for a couple of days from doing any work on wrestling pictures.  I started sorting though the ones I took at UWF on 21 July last night…I may actuallly start posting them today, if not – tomorrow.

Good luck to my brother Brett as he embarks on his wrestling promoting career in Michigan!

I purchased my copy of the new Harry Potter last Tuesday with very little fanfare.  I’m half way through it now.

Tonight, I head to APW in Spartanburg to see ER once again show off his sweatless pits…

Carolina Wrestling Association will be having a benefit show on 14 September in Statesville for Kirby Mack.  He will be having surgery in a couple of weeks and this will help to offset his bills.  If you have money or time – donate!

I watched G4’s coverage of Comic-Con last night.  The only reason is because they were going to be talking to Zack Snyder, the man who will be directing “Watchmen” – one of my favorite comic stories of all time.  Snyder also directed “300″.  The movie is projected to be out in 2009 I believe.

Time for a traditional English breakfast!

are they ever going to be up?

Wishes for a speedy recovery to Kirby Mack, who as of 8.30am Sunday morning is still in the hospital.

Of course the title refers to the Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup photos I took last weekend…the answer is yes, they will be up, hopefully in the next few days.  I took close to a thousand pictures in the span of three days, so it just takes a little time.  I appreciate everyone being patient with them.

As you may have noticed, about a third of the photos from Night 1 of the Cup are up…My only days off were Wednesday and Thursday so I am very much behind.

Took another card full of photos last night at the UWF show in Columbia.  It was the final night of the R & R Express tag team tournament.  The winners were the Steiner brothers.  Good show.  Unfortunately it was Mackless.

I think it’s about time for a weekend or two off to recharge the batteries.  I am going to have to take my camera in for a service check-up before the NWA Legends Fanfest in August.  It will be taken through the paces on those three days and I need it in top form.

sat right across from Michael Stipe…

Back at work today, I was going to put this up last night but I returned home to find no dial tones on my phones and no DSL at my computer, so here is a rough timeline of my weekend, beginning Thursday.

Thursday, July 12

4pm – Left work early.

4.30 – Met Eddie Rich in Spartanburg.

5.40 – Arrived Jamil Temple for CWA in Columbia.

Friday, July 13

2am – Back home from CWA, in bed.

8.30 – up, getting ready for flight.

11 – Enroute to Charlotte-Douglas Airport.

3 – Inflight to Orlando.

6.45 – Checked in at hotel/left for Peterson Cup Night 1.

Saturday, July 14

1am – Left show, headed back to hotel.

1.45 – Chicken sammich plate from Waffle House next to hotel.

3.30 – Went to sleep.

10 - Up, enroute to pick up Kirby at car place.

12pm – Watched “CrashBox” – laughed at Revolting Slob and failed at Captain Bones.

1 – Left for hotel to shower/change.

4.30- Left for Night 2 show in Port Richey, FL

6.30 – Arrived at the Jewish Community Center.

Sunday, July 15

1am – Left show

3.30 – got back to hotel, shower.

4.20 – Check out, return rental car.

5.15 – Arrive at airport.

6.45 – Depart Orlando.

8.15 – Arrive Charlotte/ go home.

I got a nap on Sunday morning of about a half hour.  I then went to see the new Harry Potter movie in the afternoon.

Florida is nice and hot.  My rental car was a cream colored PT Cruiser, I felt like a complete tool driving it, but it did have Sirius installed so I felt at home behind the wheel.

Speaking of the Cruisers, maybe it was just my heightened awareness but does everyone in FL have a PT Cruiser?

I spent more money on tolls than on food!

The Peterson Cup was very good.  The final match between Matt Cross and Chris Hero was match of the weekend.

TJ Mack showed real fire in his match on the 2nd night – the more aggresive style is one he should stick with.  Kirby made it through to the semi-finals, thanks to his “You’re Screwed” backcracker from the corner (very nice move), but Chris Hero had him well scouted.  I was proud to say that “I came for the Macks.”

Met David Kocotos from www.kocosports.com - be sure to check them out, he was at ringside getting some photos.  His site covers MMA/Wrestling/Boxing and lots of the Florida indys.

Also at ringside for the tourny was the lovely Mary-Kate Grosso.  Always a pleasure to see her.

I have three days of photos to go through this week…I’m not sure when they will be posted…CWA from Thursday will be up possibly Wednesday or Thursday…the Peterson Cup may be next week as I only have Wed. & Thurs. off work…

ecstasy and prozac: you’re giving me a heart attack…

First off – well wishes to AJ Frost who suffered a collapsed lung last night during his TLC match.  I could tell AJ was in severe pain in the last part of the match.  The last I heard he was put into surgery at Spartanburg Regional.

My visit to APW went well – not sure when I will be back, but I always feel welcomed there.

I have no shows this upcoming weekend as it’s back to work…next weekend will be busy though…three shows in a row…

Hope everyone had a good 4th…

These seem to get shorter and shorter don’t they?

at the gates of her palace…

Myself, ER and Adam Jaxon returned to APW in Spartanburg last night…it’s like we never left…thanks for the welcome back…

An announcer who wears wrist tape…for a promo?…

Also a return to the dreaded Denny’s…got to see the newest addition to the Boomer Payne family…

I have been thinking of starting a project…one I have started a couple of times before but stopped…it will be a database of sorts of everyone I have pictures of…a fairly large undertaking…

I want it to be something that the site visitors can click through and see what pictures are available…I don’t know, I may give up on this attempt also…

Next shows:  APW on Independence Day for the free show…July 12 – CWA in Columbia, and then the Peterson Memorial Cup July 13-14…
