Holiday blues…
So Blake, what have you done on your vacation? Where have you gone? Where are you going?
The answers are nothing, nowhere and nowhere.
Here is a rundown of what I have done since October 19th:
-Slept a lot.
-Caught up with some reading.
-Completed a lot of TV Guide crosswords.
-Watched 200 promos for “Shallow Grave” on BBC America. Speaking of BBC America, I have started watching their 7pm news show, I like.
-Caught up with a couple of old friends.
- Shaved once or twice.
- Tried two new eating places, Giardini’s in Columbus and Three Chopt Sandwich Shoppe at 103 3rd Avenue East in Hendersonville. Giardini’s has gourmet catering (not super expensive either) for lunch and dinner. They are located in the basement of a home, and it opens directly into their gardens, which provide the vegetables for their food. Very nice. I had the grilled shrimp pesto for lunch. Plus they offer a recycling program for the bowls. If you bring in 15 bowls you get a free meal. Three Chopt is a small place on the side of the street. Great atmosphere and food. As soon as we were seated, we were brought a bowl of popcorn.
-I have started Christmas shopping.
-Watched myself on “Psychic Detectives”, BJ looked great, I looked like a watermelon with a tie on. Did anyone notice my Sirius cap?
- Watched “Planet Terror,” and glad I did. Very funny. Also finally watched “Hedwig and the Angry Inch.”
-Met the BEST saleswoman ever. The Perfumania store in the Asheville Mall. A friend and I were in there looking for some cologne. I noticed that Gene Simmons has come out with a “KISS” cologne. I asked the saleslady what it smelled like. She shook her head, and said it wasn’t good. I persisted, and she responded with: “Well, it smells like p***y.” What a great answer. I did not buy that, but did pick up a bottle of Armani Dark, she also loaded us down with samples.
-Cleaned a lot of books/CDs etc out of my library, got rid of two bags of clothes. Rearranged my dining room, washed clothes and am getting my house repainted.
Flying to Roanoke on Saturday for a show in Rocky Mount. Then it’s back to work on November 5th.
